1) What’s really warming the world? Climate deniers blame natural factors; NASA data proves otherwise.
Skeptics of anthropogenic climate change offer various natural causes to explain why the Earth has warmed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880. But can these account for the planet’s rising temperature? 2) U.S. households trash $640 in food a year, per household.
American households throw away about $640 each worth of food every year, and consumers don’t really care about the environmental impact of trashed leftovers piling up in landfills, according to a survey out Wednesday from the American Chemistry Council. 3) A body of evidence: What climate change implies for global food security and trade.
Global warming will have profound consequences on where and how food is produced, and also lead to a reduction in the nutritional properties of some crops, all of which has policy implications for the fight against hunger and poverty and for the global food trade, experts say in a new book. Matt Tomich, Vice President of Energy Vision, has been named one of New York’s Top Ten Energy Entrepreneurs by the energy industry news site Breaking Energy. Extreme events, such as super floods and hurricanes, are becoming more common, so civil engineers are trying to adapt civil infrastructure such as bridges to these unpredictable and sometimes devastating meteorological events. Check out the video below.
